Computer Courses

We offer tuition for three different certification courses, all certified by the ECDL Foundation. The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), or International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) as it is known in countries outside of Europe, is the leading international computer skills certification programme. It is globally recognised and delivered in approximately 150 countries through a network of National Operators. ICS Skills, the skills and certification body of the Irish Computer Society, is the National Operator for ECDL in Ireland and has overseen the participation of over 600,000 candidates in this programme. Inch Multimedia are accredited by ICS Skills to deliver the three programmes outlined below.

EqualSkills is an introductory course to the basics of using computers, email and the internet aimed at those with no previous experience in those areas. Guided by their tutor, candidates complete a simple, straightforward workbook at their own pace. There is no formal exam at the end of the programme. Learners receive an EqualSkills certificate on successful completion of the workbook. ECDL is ideal for those who would like to develop and certify their computer skills and competency for work and/or personal use. With the newest version of the ECDL course, you have greater flexibility than ever before in what you would like to study, and there are three certification options. You are eligible for an ECDL Profile as soon as you complete and pass just one ECDL module. You may then add further modules to this as and when you choose, allowing you to become certified in whatever particular areas most suit your needs at whatever time best suits your schedule. The ECDL Essentials certificate certifies a minimum standard in digital literacy and can be achieved by passing four base modules: Computer Essentials, Online Essential, Word Processing and Spreadsheets. The ECDL Award certificate is the international standard for end-user ICT skills competence. It is earned by passing the four base modules along with three other standard modules of your choosing. There are a range of standard modules on offer including Presentation, Using Databases, IT Security, Image Editing and Web Editing. You may select the modules that best suit your interests and needs. For more information on the range of ECDL modules on offer and the course content for each module please click here.

ECDL Advanced

ECDL Advanced is for those who would like to further enhance their IT skills to expert level. The ECDL Expert certificate is awarded to anyone who successfully completes three of the four advanced modules. For further information on ECDL Advanced please click here.
